Case study Città della Salute

case cittadellasalute2With the merging of the three regional hospitals, "Città della Salute e della Scienza" became the largest healthcare centre not only in Italy, but also in Europe, operating with about twelve thousand employees. The new healthcare center is comprised of the following hospitals: Molinette, Dermatologico San Lazzaro, San Giovanni Antica Sede, CTO-Maria-Adelaide, Ospedale Infantile Regina Margherita and Sant'Anna.

The project

When InfoHEALTH® was implemented at Le Molinette of Turin in 2007, the clinical engineering service had already been formed for a year. Due to the complexity and size of the structure, the organization of the service required a management system able to govern the technological equipment, to accurately manage contracts for the supply of technical services and to analyze maintenance performances.

Today there are 22,000 electromedical pieces of equipment encoded in InfoHEALTH® software used by Le Molinette; all maintenance jobs and testing are traced, plans for future maintenance are drafted and suppliers are monitored, and the correct application of the SLA is supervised.

The direct impact of a more efficient organization in Clinical Engineering has been a more rational use of spaces, containment of cost maintenance, the increased availability of medical equipment and a higher safety level for the patients and for the operators of the equipment.

InfoHEALTH® was implemented at the Molinette Hospital in 2007 and it will soon be extended to other healthcare units as well.
