Social Accountability

IB achieved SA8000 certification in 2004 and has recently complied with the new version 2014 confirming its determination to maintain a responsible approach towards social issues in a market where competition doesn’t usually consider ethical conduct.

From an operational point of view, IB has activated initiatives and changes in its internal procedures such as:

  • sharing information with customers and suppliers to raise awareness of Social Responsibility
  • checking that providers are in fact compliant with the Social Accountability rules IB requires
  • anonymous collection of complaints and suggestions from staff on quality of life within the company.

At an organizational level, IB has appointed a SA8000 worker representative, in order to connect employees with the top management regarding corporate social responsibility, and a Social Performance Team (SPT), equally composed by management and employees.
