TEP Parma increasingly mobile
In September 2014, the Mobile project for TEP Parma was launched. It initially provided access to InfoPMS® software using the Android tablet, and has since expanded to rugged mobile computers.
Thanks to mobile connectivity, now users who work on-site have a more quick and immediate access to some functions of the application, meeting company needs for increasingly prompt usage of InfoPMS®.
In particular, at every shift change chief technicians record meter readings (km, fuel and oil) through Android 8" tablet, allowing the maintenance schedules to be updated in real time. Technical operations are thus moved ahead or postponed day by day, allowing for activities to be more well planned and for consumption to be continuously monitored, with consequent savings in resources.
Since the beginning of 2015, the purchase flow, in particular the creation of orders, their settlement and possible adjustment, can be managed through the Purchasing module integrating InfoPMS® with the ERP Sage X3, powered by DM Utility.
The mobile-friendly approach has also been adopted in TEP's warehouses, where the person in charge is able to download the spare part directly to the picking ticket by simply reading the 1D and 2D bar codes. Thanks to the integration between handheld terminals and InfoPMS® the maintenance and the purchasing departments are now constantly aware of the actual inventory stock. Within the same application, they can both run record technical interventions and promptly re-order the spare part each time the stock reaches the minimum level.
IB's client since 2000, TEP manages public transport in Parma with a total number of 340 means of transportation, covering an urban area of 237 km and a suburban area of 1,970 km.
