MieleThe SIS-TEMA project acted as a forerunner to a European project of extreme importance, wanted by the Italian Ministry of Transport and coordinated by RINA. Multimodal Interoperability E-services for Logistics and Environment sustainability (MIELE) is the project, which belongs to a program funded by TEN - TEA (Trans European Transport Network Executive Agency.)  MIELE - 16 million Euros worth - is aimed at maximizing the efficiency of the interchange of information along the logistics chain, with particular attention to the ship - port interface.

The Italian Ministry of Transport (Beneficiary) delegated to RINA the role of Project Manager. Ports involved were: Leixões Port - APDL, Lisboa Port - APL, Port of Gijon, Port Authority of Cyprus, Port of Wilhelmshaven,  Genoa Port Authority, and La Spezia Port Authority.
